Mohamed Rifkhan
Ahamed Rizvi Mohamed Rifkhan (born November 17, 1988), a young Sri Lankan business entrepreneur; more popularly known for his role as Founder and Chairman of iDealz Lanka (Pvt) Ltd ; the Most Awarded Mobile Reseller in Sri Lanka. His ventures in the industry since its inception in 2012, has led him to an expansion of his portfolio over the years, partnering with leading brands across the globe such as Samsung, Apple , Huawei, Singer, Softlogic and John Keells Holdings.
He has the honour of being a nationally recognized and awarded advocate for technology in Sri Lanka; holding the title of “Deshabandu” -the third-highest Sri Lankan national honour; awarded for meritorious service; and “Deshakeerthi” -for contributions to the growth of the Nation; by the Council of Justice (of) Peace Worldwide - Sri Lanka, in 2018.
Rifkhan (pronounced ‘rif-carn’) was also awarded ‘Sri Lanka Young Businessman of The Year 2018’ by the Business World International Awards (BWIO USA) ; in his mission of elevating the nation's technological standing in the world through providing accessibility of state-of-the-art electronics and devices to consumers.
Early Life and Education
Born to [Ahamed Rizvi and Sameena Fariha in Colombo 12, Sri Lanka]; Rifkhan was educated at Hameed Al Husseinie College – Colombo, Sri Lanka and then subsequently to British College of Applied Studies (BCAS) Sri Lanka for his Higher National Diploma in Computer Science. He later moved to the United Kingdom and graduated from Middlesex University with a degree in Computer Software Engineering.
Career
Upon his return from the UK, Rifkhan initiated operations as a home-based mobile reseller in Sri Lanka, working with a limited set of clientele. Progressing forward, leveraging on his knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) at a very early stage in the country’s digital marketing growth; he penetrated the market by generating numerous sales leads, setting him up to eventually start up ‘iDealz Lanka’; a leading reseller in the industry today.
In 2019, Rifkhan was then presented with the Dr. APJ ABDUL KALAM MEMORIAL EXCELLENCE AWARD by the Lanka Achievers Foundation for the milestones achieved by his company in the technology industry in Sri Lanka.
