Maddie Rice

Maddie Rice is an American guitarist.[1] In 2015 she was chosen to play lead guitar in Stay Human, the house band for Stephen Colbert, on The Tonight Show.[2] Her choice was seen as remarkable, as she was then just 22 years old.
Rice grew up in Utah.[1][3] Rice was so dedicated to music, in high school, that she finished her homework, at school, so she could devote five hours per to night to practicing, when she got home. Rice moved to Boston, Massachusets, for college, where she attended the Berklee College of Music.[4] While there, she was in an all-girl funk band that included Gabrielle Walter-Clay, and Alissia Benveniste.
In New York she is also a member of a five piece band called Rubblebucket.[1][5]
