Longrack is the gabby, annoying class committee member of the group. He is quite serious about following rules to the letter, and will butt in and aggressively complain to others about it. His Arm Shot attack extends his right arm, while his Crush Arm grabs and mangles his enemies. Longrack also specializes in tinkering with machines.

Animated series

At the beginning of Beast Wars Neo, Longrack is unaccustomed to the responsibility that he is given, resulting in his commonly issuing unreasonable orders. When Big Convoy is MIA due to being trapped by the robotic spider “Biter,” Longrack attempts to take charge of the rookie Maximals. To his dismay, his classmates continue to ignore his orders and operate on their own. Big Convoy soon escapes and resumes command of the recruits, leading the Maximals to victory yet again. Big Convoy then explains to Longrack that while one day he may be a great leader with the respect he deserves, he is still young and needs to earn the trust of his fellow soldiers.

Longrack is among the crew in episode #2 "Chase the Mysterious Capsule" when they arrive at the planet Godbless and obtain their first Angolmois capsule after a confrontation with the Predacons led by Magmatron.

Longrack appears in the episode #11, "Planet of Time" where the Maximals investigate the planet Cronos, which hah been placed off limited by the Maximal command. After a battle with the Predacons the Maximals discover Longrack has been turned into a child recovering the capsule. Later on the planet Break is turned into an old man. In the battle Heinlad is able to stop time and make the Predacons shoot themselves, winning the battle for the Maximals. Back on the ship the Longrack and Break are returned to their normal selves.[1]

Longrack appears in episode #35, called "Graduation!!" Luring Unicron into battle, the Maximals, are aided, surprisingly, by the escaped Lio Convoy, Magmatron and his Predacons. They manage to delay Unicron long enough for Convoy to use the power of the Matrix to charge his weapon into the Matrix Buster. The cannon blasts Unicron, seemingly destroying him for good. Big Convoy's Maximals fight the three Blendtrons. Heinlad stops time just as the three are about to fire on the Maximals, moves them, and then restarts time so they shoot each others. The Blendtrons then retreat. With the threat of Unicron eliminated Big Convoy is joined with Magmatron to usher in a new era of peace of Cybertron.

IDW Publishing

Longrack appeared in Beast Wars: The Ascending #1, in Cybertronian for on Cybertron, as a member of The Pack under the command of Leo Prime. In issue #2 Leo Prime lead The Pack to Earth 70,000 B.C. to rescue Razorbeast. The Pack were reformatted into beast modes and landed in the middle of a fight between the Maximals and Predacons. Once on Earth Longrack attacked Buzzsaw, throwing him into Transquito.

Longrack had a biography printed in the Beast Wars Sourcebook by IDW Publishing.

His Cybertronian form in the IDW Publishing comics seemed to be based on the toy for Cybertron Longrack.

Toys

  • Beast Wars Neo Mega Longrack (1999)
Longrack was available exclusively in Japan. He was packaged by himself and together with Guiledart.
The toy of Longrack stands 17 centimeters tall in robot mode. According to the show notes Longrack is 2.9 meters tall, so the toy is 1:17 scale.

Tough as nails and patient as a mountain Longrack just wants to fulfill his mission to repair as much of the damage already done to Cybertron as possible. He does not like to fight, but that does not mean he's not good at it. If Runamuck and the other Decepticons are spoiling for a confrontation, Longrack is more than happy to introduce them to his powerful Crushsteel Punch.

Animated series

Longrack was seen among the Autobots on Earth in several episodes. He only appeared in vehicle mode and wasn't named.

Oddly, another transformer looking like Longrack was seen on the planet Gigantion. This transformer was much larger, but identical in design.

Fun Publications

Longrack appears in the story from Fun Publications called Force of Habit. This story explains where he was during the events of the Cybertron story. Ultra Magnus is the commander of various Autobot ships sent to other planets in search for the Cyber Planet Keys. Longrack serves as captain of the Spanner which was sent to Delta Draconis. Among the ship's crew are Armorhide, Blurr and Checkpoint.[2] The Spanner arrives on a colony world named Combatron, a nearly dead world ravaged by a long war after the disappearance of it's leader King Atlas. Blurr is captured by Combatron survivors Whirl, Thunderstick, Skysickle and Grip-Lock. Longrack pretends to to have been sent from Cybertron as the new commander for Combatron, taking command of the survivors. Discovering a Decepticon ship lead by Brushguard has landed and is raiding an armory, the Autobots stop the Decepticons and strand them on the planet.

Blurr, Excellion, Longrack, and Swerve appeared among Override's troops in the Transformers Collectors Club exclusive story The Dark Heart of Sandokan by Benson Yee. This story is set years after the events of the Transformers: Cybertron animated series. Override (now in her GTS form) was commanding the Autobot ship Star Arrow when it crashed on the planet Sandokan while transporting a Force Chip.

Other media

Longrack's toy also made a cameo in the movie "Are We Done Yet?"

Toys

  • Cybertron Deluxe Longrack (2005)
The toy for this character was a retooling and slight remold of Hoist from the Transformers: Armada line. His Cyber Key activated the shovel arm feature rather than a Mini-Con. The head was a new mold and the Mini-Con port was remolded (it was turned into a Cyber Key port). This toy's body, with the original Hoist head, was redecoed into Timelines Dinobot.
