Krank is a fictional character and third-party Transformer homage to Generaton 1 Huffer made by X-Transbots in 2014. In 2014 Reprolabels released a set of labels for Krank.

X-Transbots

Krank is an homage to the Autobot Huffer. He turns from a robot to semi-truck. According to his tech spec numbers he is very smart, strong and skilled, but his firepower is incredibly low.

Other third-party Transformers that homage Huffer include iGear's Rager.

Development

Krank was designed by toy designer 539, and developed along side X-Transbots Stax.

X-Transbots released the first images of Krank and Stax on their Facebook page in July 2013.[1] X-Transbots confirmed on their weibo page that they moved up the reveal of Krank and Stax in response to the reveal of Cubex's homage to Huffer.

Art and prototype images of Krank and Stax were previewed at TFcon 2013's Third Party Panel.[2]

In December 2013 X-Transbots did a survey on Weibo asking if Krank's thighs should be black or blue.

Krank was released in January 2014.

Fictional biography

A cynic, doubter, grouch, moaner, whiner and sourpuss. Though he's a pain in the rear thrusters, Krank is an accomplished construction engineer with mathematical genius and an expert in all things molecular. Despite his personality flaws, Krank is considered valuable to the team and surprises them with his genuinely good deeds. He's been assigned to a crew which he gets along with quite well, although Ollie seems to be wearing him down lately. Most of Krank's complaints stem from being homesick and he longs for the day he can return.

Comics

Krank appears in his pack-in comic story I Can Deal With This Now! where he teams up with Citizen Stack to free his brother Stax from the Sky Pirates.[12]

Toys

  • X-Transbots MM-I Krank (2014)
An original third-party Transformer mold by X-Transbots. Turns from a 6.25 inch tall robot to semi-truck. Comes with two guns.
He was recolored into Shafter and remolded into Hoss and Stax.
The box for Krank is done in a style of a Generation 1 Transformers box. The back of the box features a group battle scene and a tech spec biography for Krank. The bottom of the box teases the upcoming Hoss and Ollie toys.
  • Reprolabels Master Mini Huffer (2014)
A set of labels intended to make Krank look more like Generation 1 Huffer. Includes Autobot faction symbols.[13]
