Gutcruncher is the name of two fictional characters from the Transformers series. The original Gutcruncher was a Decepticon Action Master introduced in 1990. The second one is his heroic mirror universe counterpart.

Sub-group Action Masters

Gutcruncher is a Decepticon Action Masters. He has a contract with Megatron to sell the remains of the Autobots he defeats to the Junkions for profit. [1][2]

Animated series

Although the US animated series was canceled before Gutcruncher was made he did appear in animated form in a toy commercial for Action Masters. [3]

Comics

Fun Publications

Gutcruncher was one of the main characters in the text story Gone Too Far by Fun Publications. He beat Hubcap in a card game then attempted to unite the disenfranchized offworlders in Axiom Nexus but was assassinated by Black Shadow, who tried to frame Hubcap for the death.[4]

Battletrap, Crankcase, Gutcruncher and Stormcloud appear among Bludgeon's troops in the story At War's End by Fun Publications. They help remove Abominus after the Terrorcon combiner had been defeated by Piranacon when it is believed that Hun-Gurrr sold out Bludgeon to Megatron.

IDW Publishing

Banzai-Tron, Gutcruncher, Axer and the Combaticons help Arcee attempt to recapture Monstructor. [5]

Gutcruncher appears in Spotlight: Hot Rod, Spotlight: Arcee and Spotlight: Hardhead.[6]

An mirror-universe version of Gutcruncher appeared in the Transformers: Timelines fiction. He is one of the heroic Decepticons. He has a cannon arm and a shield.

Fun Publications

Gutcruncher appears in the fiction Dungeons & Dinobots, a text based story from Fun Publications. He defends the Arch-Ayr fuel dump from an Autobot attack. He is defending a position with Sideswipe when Rodimus and Arcee attempt to flank him. Arcee fires on him as she is being effected by Dirge's laughter inducing power, but Gutcruncher deflects the blast with his shield. After the battle Gutcruncher questions Cliffjumper's story of a world where the Autobots are the "good guys."[8]

Toys

  • Transformers Scout Signal Flare (2007)
The toy for Signal Flare used in the 2007 Transformers film toy line was the basis for Shattered Glass Gutcruncher. Although Signal Flare was an Autobot, it had no Autobot symbol on the toy, making it easy to used as a Decepticon.
