Gildis is a fictional character from the Machine Robo series introduced in 1985. He is an evil Gandora Devil Invader.

Machine Robo

Gildis is a Gandora Devil Invader who specializes in jungle combat. Because of his mechanoid nature he does not need to breath oxygen and is resistant to cold, but is vulnerable to intense magnetic fields. His weapons include his Guild Blasters and Guild Cutters, He turns from robot to alien aircraft.

Gildis was killed many times in the series, and was continually brought back to life by the Gandora. Initially an individual, but eventually multiple clones of Gildis served in among the Gandora.

Animated series

In Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos episode 22, "Rockdon Versus Rockgilen" Baldas, Casmodon, Falgos, Gildis and Zarios were among the Gandora who enslaved a Rock People village. Blue Jet cut all five in half with his Lightning Strike sword attack.[1]

Gildis appeared in episode 25, "Scramble! Land Commander 5" as part of a Gandora attack on the city lead by Garudi Stol.[2]

Casmodon and Gildis collected energy for the Gandora in episode 26, "Crossrock's Great Promise".[3]

Baldas, Casmodon, Falgos, Gildis and Zarios were among Garudi Stol when he fought Rom Stol's group in episode 27, "The Magic Mountain Knight Maskrock". They were shot down by Maskrock and Magnarock.[4]

Gildis appeared in episode 28, "Tough Trailer - 10 Seconds to Detonation".[5]

Gildis appeared in episode 34, "Vikung-Fu Disappears In Space".[6]

Gildis was part of a Gandora attack force that battled Land Commander 5 in episode 37, "Critical Moment - Land Commander 5". The giant combiner punched Gildis and caused him to explode.[7]

Gildis appeared in episode 42, "Vikung-Fu - Cry of Anger".[8]
