Reception

Fictional biography

During Cybertron's Golden Age of peace, an elite few served as the guardians of Cybertron's accumulated knowledge. Among these data clerks was Optronix. A low-level operator who sought to replace those above him, Optronix turned his research skills to finding methods of manipulation. Eventually, he rose to prominence; however, when his activities were uncovered, he was removed from service and left purposeless. Deep in his Ember though, Optronix believed he was best fit to lead Cybertron. He hungered for power and through his studies, he determined that military might was the only way to achieve his goals. Preaching a philosophy of destruction and conquest, he eventually began re-engineering his body as well as taking on a new name: Optimus Prime. He then began refashioning the bodies of his followers into weapons as well. Armed with weapons and a uniting philosophy, he declared his warriors autonomous from the rest of Cybertron and thus named them the Autobots!

Toys

  • CHMS KOLD LE-09 Voyager Double Shattered Glass Konvoy (2011)
A recolor based on the Classic Optimus Prime mold meant to look like the 2008 Timelines Optimus Prime toy. Two small changes in the art include a second broken window and the words "NOT FOR SALE" on the bumper. Turns from robot to truck.
Like all KOLD toys based on the Classic Voyager Optimus Prime toy there is a flaw in the windvane gun placing one mounting holes in the wrong place.
The package features a word-for-word retelling of the Shattered Glass Optimus Prime biography from his Tech Spec card, even calling the character Optimus Prime, despite being called Double Shattered Glass Konvoy elsewhere on the box.
The box art for all the KOLD Konvoy toys is based on art by Mike Ruthless for his Transformers: Oblivion comic.[2]
  • CHMS KOLD LE-09 Voyager Unshattered Glass Konvoy Blue (2011)
A recolor of the Double Shattered Glass toy, with Decepticon logos and painted details like the Henkei Convoy in blue paint. Packaged in the same box as the Double Shattered Glass toy.
  • CHMS KOLD LE-09 Voyager Unshattered Glass Konvoy Silver (2011)
A recolor of the Double Shattered Glass toy, with Decepticon logos and painted details like the Henkei Convoy in silver paint. According to the designer of this toy it was originally supposed have Autobot symbols, but the final product had Decepticon symbols like the blue variant. Packaged in the same box as the Double Shattered Glass toy. [3]
